The People Have Spoken, BARACK OBAMA IS THE 44TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

It is an important day that will change the face of the American people and the history of the United States. We have officially elected our first black (or rather biracial) president. I hope he is able to meet the challenges our country faces in the years to come. Obama is such a charismatic and inspirational figure. I still remember watching him on television years ago on Oprah when he wrote his books. He was relatively unknown at the time. I even remember when he was initially asked about a possible presidency in the future. He hadn't considered it before, but it was possible--and look how far things have come. I hope he is able to deliver his promises and that is for time to tell.

Anticipation

In less than 12 hours it will be 2009. I will not have an official countdown this year since I'll be working tonight. Working my first New Year's Eve. I don't mind because I had my first Christmas off. I've celebrated NYE in different ways over the years: Vegas, clubbing in LA, partying with family, partying with friends. I've seen lots of family and friends 6 different times over the course of 2 weeks. I won't feel deprived out of this one holiday. I don't believe in new year's resolutions, but I do believe in having personal goals and aspirations. I think the new year is a great time to be reminded and more conscious of commitments to priorities and focusing on making personal lifelong changes for the better. My family = kickback (size) My family + our friends = PAARTAY then mix that with... 3 (1.75 liter) bottles vodka (2 Grey Goose, 1 Kirkland) - gone 1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila - gone 1 bottle Absolute vodka - gone 1 bottle Kahluhua - half gone 3 (1 liter) bottles Bacardi Rum - 3/4 gone 1 bottle Bacardi 151 - 1/4 gone 1 bottle Hennessey - gone Several dozens cans and bottles of different beers (too many to list) - gone Add some food and snacks Add magic mic karoake + DJ (in the garage) + chillen in the backyard = lots of happy fun loving drunk peeps + lots of nonstop moments of fun til 4 am + one super drunk cousin (birthday boy) [also 12 or more large bags of trash (6 fit outside the large trash bin) + lots of cleanup (blah)] but overall...GOOD TIMES
